Open Letter to the Jewish Federation and the JCPA

Dear Sir or Madam:

On behalf of Artists 4 Israel (A4I), I would like to express my gratitude for the Federation’s and the JCPA’s recent launching of the Israel Action Network. Please allow our organization to assist you in this most important effort to counter the culture war against Israel.

A4I is a community of creative individuals working together in ongoing, collaborative projects expressing Israel’s right to exist in peace and security. Founded in January of 2009, we were the first organization to coin the term and begin the fight against the “Culture War” being waged against Israel.

We make Israel’s case to artists, direct them in spreading a pro-Israel message to their communities, pro-actively create work on behalf of Israel and monitor and respond to anti-Israel bias in the arts. We are the only movement to take on this enormous challenge, and we are all volunteer-run.

In just two years and without funding, we have had many successes, from bringing pro-Israel art to Art Basel, selling out Off-Broadway theaters with pro-Israel plays and bringing internationally recognized, non-Jewish artists to visit Israel and paint bomb shelters in Sderot. You can see A4I everywhere from the Wall Street Journal to the most viral on-line sites. Even more effective are the times you don’t see A4I, where our artists’ work, guerilla at best, has become part of the cultural narrative, winning hearts and minds in support of Israel.

You can also read more about us in the attached, at: www.artists4israel.org or read about our historic mission to Israel here: www.paintisrael.org or our creation of a hub for pro-Israel art here: www.dershowitzcenter.org.

We would be grateful for the opportunity to meet and discuss how we might work together.

Sincerely,

A4I Board
