Shirts vs. Skins

Hey...those shirts look familiar!

Devil is in the Details

Read this ARTICLE from Details magazine about the way the Jewish girl is becoming the hottest new thing in every man's fantasy.

And, here, we thought it was Israeli army girls.

Sometimes, it feels this way

Haaretz - ArtLess

Haaretz is considered, by many outside of Israel, to be the de facto news source from the MotherLand. As such, on a slow day, this blogger looks to its Arts section to be inspired by stories to publish on this here site. And, not once, has inspiration struck. Israel is a beautiful country nearly bursting at the seems with creativity and a constantly-evolving arts scene. Why is Haaretz not accurately covering this? If anyone there is paying attention - please consider improving your arts coverage.

Thank you.

980 vs. 1

As the Israeli government and public debate the morality and rationality of releasing 980 prisoners in exchange for one soldier, there are many arguments being made on both sides. A4I would like to offer an alternative consideration.

Israelis - stop blaming and fighting one another!

Gilad was abducted by terrorists. He has been held, against all rules of war and engagement, as a prisoner under what we can only assume are terrible conditions. He has suffered and has been missed greatly by his immediate family and the greater family of Israel.

The prisoners for which he will be traded are criminals, murderers and terrorists. They have been fairly tried in open court, found guilty of their crimes and held in the best possible circumstances for a convict. In exchanges of this nature in the past, many of these prisoners return to a life of crime and murderous terrorism.

There is no right answer. How does one describe morality and rationality in a world gone mad? How does one attempt to debate and think thoughtfully against terrorists and the irrational? One does not. So, rather than fight one another, dear Israelis, over the wrong and right of this situation, realize only this: They are wrong. They are terrorists. They are kidnappers. They have created this terrible situation where the choices are only between bad and worse ideas.

Do not blame one another. Hold the guilty parties accountable, even if only in your mind.

Dear All Organizations with Fancy Office Spaces:

The playing field just leveled.

Bye now,

The David Project

Last night, Artists 4 Israel were honored to have David Dabschek of The David Project attend our November (S)kin class. David got to see a beautiful, artistic, diverse crowd of young creatives eager to draw the naked form and to learn about Israel.

Artists 4 Israel got the validation of a leading organization in the Jewish community. The David Project is a an educational organization that promotes an honest, fair and fact-based understanding of Israel and the Middle East.

Without prior warning, Craig Dershowitz, President of Artists 4 Israel, called on David to deliver a 5 minute speech connecting Thanksgiving and Israel.

Considering that David is Australian, a country far more known for Tim Tams than Turkey, this was an even bigger challenge than anticipated. However, David handled it with the truthfulness and grace for which he is known and left the A4I crowd more knowledgeable than before.

We look forward to future partnerships with The David Project and encourage anyone who has further questions about the topics touched on in A4I's programs and projects to consider this organization as a resource.

Folding Paper

Did you know that there was an Israeli Origami Institute?

Well, there is.

Apparently, Israel is recognized as a leading country in this art form.

Gay Marriage Ain't Got Nothing on This

Somewhere in Asia, a man has wed a video game character. (Video below)

And, we are still worried about Gay Marriage?

Even that term is offensive. Gay Marriage? Do we call the other types "Straight Marriage?" Do we need to start defining all our unions? I.e. "Marriage Because Wife Got Knocked Up" "Marriage Between Two People who Don't Really LIke Each Other So It Will End in Divorce." "Interracial Marriage."

Artists 4 Israel is proud to announce our Theater Program, Love and Licenses, including the play Te Busco, the story about Gay Marriage in Tel Aviv.

Stay tuned for more information and an interview with Amir Levi, the writer/actor/dancer/advocate behind Te Busco.

Jew Watch Me!

By now, most of the sane world has dismissed Jew Watch for being the high-level functioning of a mentally retarded, paranoid, egomaniac with an obsessive disorder most probably stemming from having been molested by his older brother while watching Fiddler on the Roof.
Not saying that is what happened - just saying it would be a plausible explanation.

But, search as I might, I could not find our President's name amongst the list of potential bad Jewish guys on this site. This is going to make Craig very unhappy. After all, he owns a small, boutique magazine - doesn't that qualify him to be one of the many "Jews who control media?" He is also a wiz at dominoes - capicu - shouldn't he, at least, be considered a "Degenerate Jewish Gambler?" Can we get some love here for our esteemed President?

So, instead of asking you to write letter upon letter belittling the already insignificant near-human who runs Jew Watch, A4I has another request. Please contact this sperm-waist and demand that Craig Dershowitz and Artists 4 Israel be officially designated as some sort of Zionist conspirator.

His address is below. If you wish, instead, to just tell him what you really think of him...we can't stop you.

"Curiosity is the lust of the mind."
- Thomas Hobbes

Boris Lurie: Confrontational. Artist. Advocate.

You want to describe the Holocaust with your movies and your love-stories and piss-shit memoirs of hope and salvation. Fuck you. The Holocaust is NOT Anne Frank and a death that only happened because she stopped writing. The Holocaust has nothing to do with literary tricks or running, ranting, raving pens. Death was neither symbolic or celebrated. It was. It is still a gross, disgusting movement of lies and betrayal. It is the blunt, fucking, jagged edge of torture.

And, Boris Lurie knows this. He had the balls to tell the world. Or, maybe, it was his obligation. Maybe one others died they haunted his dreams and lived their pain through him.

So, excuse him if he laughs at your art world pretense and happy word half-hugs. This is the Mary and she got raped for your sins. Which is why he will only be famous for laying at your feet.

"In a time of wars and extermination, aesthetic exercises and decorative patterns are not enough."
- Boris Lurie

Infidel Cooking: The Recipe

From our chef:

My grandmother’s (Surah Bat Leizer) Lekach:

3 Eggs
1 cup honey
1 cup sugar
1 cup warm strong coffee
1/2 cup vegetable oil (I use canola; it’s not so intense as olive and also a lot lighter)
2 teaspoonfuls baking soda
2 teaspoonfuls vanilla
1 teaspoonful cinnamon
1 teaspoonful Nutmeg
1 teaspoonful allspice
1 teaspoonful ground cloves
2.5 cups flour
Raisins – about a half a handful
Orange Peel – about a half a handful
Walnuts – about a half a handful
Whiskey – ¼ cups
Raisins, orange peel, nuts and whiskey are optional and can be used together, just one ingredient or omitted altogether depending on your taste.

Beat the eggs with honey, then sugar. Add soda to coffee and pour into egg mixture together with oil. In a separate bowl mix all dry ingredients. Join the contents of the two bowls and mix well.
Bake at 350 F for about an hour.

Enjoy ☺

Family Guy Has Balls. Intelligent, Mocking, Funny, Righteous Balls

Terrorist Ken

I am certain there is some story behind this. I am equally certain I am not going to tell it. As bad and offensive as was the original Barbie, with all her plastic enhanced sexual idealization of the female form, even worse is this doll which reinforces the oppression suffered by so many women.

I am assuming Iran won't have a problem with this toy, like they USUALLY DO

Here is the Barbie, a live rock concert where most of Israel's up and coming artists get low down.
