Second round of pics from (S)kin August

First Round of Pictures for (S)kin August

Artist and Liar

Viktor Miskiano and Zdenka Badovinac, who look shockingly like Boris and Natasha, are either staunch principalists or money-hungry art whores pimping themselves to the highest bidder.

According to all involved, the two Russian curators pulled out of curating ArtTLV, the Israeli art biennial, because they wanted and were denied for the organizers of the art show to condemn Israel's defensive war against the terrorists in Gaza known as Operation Cast Lead.

But, if you research the topic further, you find that Israel was unwilling to pay the curators the amount they demanded, forcing the question: who is paying them? As we have discussed previously, Hamas' culture and propaganda ministers are on an arts kick and maybe they found the bigger bucks. I mean, Zdenka did come to a defense of Communism in this article - maybe she is just trying to get some more cash to give out to the people, right Comrade?

(S)kin: Through the Doors

I've already said enough.

Israel goes Gaga

Unless you've been patrolling Town Hall meetings looking for a good fight over Universal Healthcare, you are probably aware that Lady Gaga is performing in Israel and that she did a press conference while there in a studded Star of David jacket.

Reports from the Mother Land say that the citizenry is quite in love with this pop princess.

Which is good, since we just hired a model for (S)kin who looks just like her. And, wears less clothing!

Rich People Do It Better

The above painting, Michael Jackson (Green) is an Andy Warhol original. It just sold in auction for an undisclosed price above $1 million but rumored to be closer to $10 million.

Janet Lehr, the auction's curator is donating a portion of the proceeds to Sderot to help them repair from the vicious attacks perpetrated on them by the terrorists of Gaza.

Selling art for Israel? Using pop artist and street artists? Working in a music angle? Is this Janet Lehr a secret member of A4I?

(S)kin Rocks

Woodstock and Israel

Without an American Jew with strong ties to Israel, there would not have been a Woodstock.

Max Yasgur, whose farm in Bethel, NY became the stage for the world's greatest festival, had this to say to the crowd:

"...the important thing that you've proven to the world is that a half a million kids — and I call you kids because I have children that are older than you are — a half million young people can get together and have three days of fun and music and have nothing but fun and music, and I God Bless You for it! ”

Joni Mitchell commemorated him in a song:

"I came upon a child of God
He was walking along the road
And I asked him where are you going
And this he told me: he said
I'm going on down to Yasgur's farm
I'm going to join in a rock 'n' roll band
I'm going to get back to the land
And get my soul free.."

When Max visited Israel, he was introduced to David Ben Gurion who immediately recognized him as the Woodstock guy. Apparently, Ben-Gurion appreciated good music.

Hamesiach

Shout to my new friends Hamesiach. They are the originators of Jewish Gangsta Techno Metal. Which is exactly what your parents do not want you listening to. Yet, it is all for the love. Respect.
